Why do you love wedding photography?
Throughout my carreer as a photographer portraits have been my passion and my speciality. While I'm doing a wedding documentary, I thoroughly enjoy not only to document the wedding process but also to capture the love and the closeness of the happy couple.

What are your favourite moments during a wedding?
The most impressive moments for me are not necessarily those related to the wedding rituals like exchanging wedding rings. The most precious moments are those which reveal the special love that connects the bride and groom, situations that show you how much friends and family support the newly weds and how glady everyone shares their happiness.

In your work approach, do you put the focus on documentation or portraits?
In my pictures I try to present people just the way they are: extraordinary, unique but still down-to-earth. Unique: just like their wedding day. The bridal couples would like to conserve their memories in a special way and that's why I combine documentation and portraits. The people in front of the camera are my focus. Nobody should feel disturbed by my presence but comfortable and relaxed instead.In addition I'm capturing the day's athmosphere and ambience in individual close-ups.

What has influenced your style so far?
Weddings are a recurring theme in art. The Old Masters like Boticelli, Brueghel and the New Masters like Van Gogh and Rousseau chose wedding celebrations as motives for their paintings. Famous photographers like Doisneau and Keystone have shot wedding photographs. I can totally relate to their fascination, the passion with which they captured those unique moments for generations to come. Their pictures are an essential door to our past and that's why I'm trying to show and capture the essentials in my pictures as well: moments, people and small but important details.

My services are not limited to the wedding day.
